Hey everyone, I have been looking and I am trying to figure out how long a normal wait is on getting the actual NOA-2 approval in the mail. I received the electronic notice on May 21st and haven't received anything still. Since its been more than two weeks can I call the NVC for a case number?? Or do I have to wait for the paper NOA-2 and then two weeks??? Frustration is setting in, thanks for any replies!!

I'm not sure but you could always try! If I'm not mistaken, I believe when you check your case status, it should say if you haven't receive your notice in such and such days then you should call a number.. If not check your NOA1 letter or just call USCIS directly :)

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I haven't received anything and looking everyday.....I filed an inquiry online with USCIS on Thursday and it still says it hasn't been assigned for processing and I should expect to hear something by July 3rd. I'm of course frustrated at my seven month wait between NOA's like many others. What's harder is I work Monday thru Friday so getting time to call during business hours and wait for a few hours at a time on hold is near impossible. Does anyone know if the NVC does anything to notify you they received it or is the only way to find out is calling??? I sincerely hope this one paper doesn't put me back on hold for months. Thanks

So while waiting on a reply as to why I haven't received my paper NOA-2 in the mail I have gathered documents. My question is does packet three come to me or my fiancé??? I am not the best at navigating this website and finding the forums or guides for Canada. I have seen the general flowchart and guide but it doesn't state details. Thanks!!

I called USCIS and asked them about getting my second NOA in the mail and she acted as if I were crazy and didn't know what it was. I explained I have not received a second letter from USCIS with my approval and said the NVC will do that. At this point I am confused. I then called the NVC and they gave me a case number and an invoice number. She stated that they have already sent a letter to me and she will send out a case status to me. I have spoken to the apartment complex and they have had no questions or anything from the mail guy. At this point, I am frustrated. I have a case number and invoice number what do I do with this??? Do I log into CEAC and pay for my Visa?? The NVC lady said it has already been sent to the embassy. Feeling lost and frustrated at this point. Any help is appreciated.
