Applying for K1 Visa abroad in Philippines

Hi I am a US citizen who plans to work in the Philippines for a few years. Can I still apply for a K1 visa for my Filipina Fiancee?

No.

Simply because you need to live in the states for the visa.

It's to move to America. And eventually would need to prove domicile in The States.

You could marry now and then when you do want to move back to America apply for a Cr1 spouse visa or wait until you plan to move back and apply for a k1.

If you're moving there soon, better get married and file for a spousal visa via Direct Consular Filing (DCF) at the US Embassy in Manila. File it a few months before your intended move back to the US so your wife can immigrate with you.

"Plans to work in the Philippines for a few years" suggests they are not moving to the states soon.

I know that's why I suggested DCF. I meant if he was planning to move to the Philippines soon then there's no point in filing K1.

That's just what I said. Get married in the Philippines and file the petition at the US Embassy in Manila.

Again my point is it is pointless suggesting to file now when he plans on moving in a few years, not this year.

Huh? Did I say to file now? I said to file DCF 6 months PRIOR to their intended date of moving to the US. So that will be years from now.

I guess OP understood that.

May I suggest that instead of filing fo a K-1 that you get marred in the Philippines, then about 2-4 months before you are ready to return to the USA you file for a spousal visa IR/CR-1 using the DCF process (Direct Consulate Filing). For most this complete process takes about 60 days. This would be the smarter move being you will be living there.
