Hello

I moved to the U.S. on a K-1 visa, got married and now I'm applying for AOS.

On the forms, they ask for my 'A number' and my 'file number'. Are these two numbers the same?

I know the 'A number' is on the NOA2, but I'm really not sure what the 'file number is'.

Can anyone help me out, please?!

The A- number is your Alien number and you are correct it is on the NOA2 that you received from your K1 visa,

I quickly looked at my forms for AOS and did a word search for 'File number' but I didn't find it. Which form is it on?

Thanks for checking that out for me. It's the very top right box on the G-325A (Biograohic Information) form. It says 'File Number', then 'A......'

I'm stumped!!!

The file number is the USCIS file number. It is the same as the Alien Registration number, or A#.
