Small Error in K-1 Packet....

Hello there!

This is one of my first few posts here! I hope to stick around and learn a lot from everyone here. I'm hoping someone can give me advice on a small issue that has come up.

I applying for a K-1 for my fiancee. I've checked our packet over numerous times in preparation for mailing it out and today I found an error.

As you all probably know, at the bottom of the G325-A there is the section that says:

This form is submitted in connection with an application for:

Other (specify):

I just noticed today, I wrote Other (Specify): K1 Visa

and my Fiancee's form says Other (Specify): I-129 (That's right I-129, not I-129F)

The person helping us prepare the form said not to worry about this too much, but I'm WAY too ####### to send a form in with something like this!

Please VJ'ers. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

And honestly, I'm such a perfectionist (or a madman) that this kept me up all night worrying about it.

It's not so hard to reprint forms, mine can easily be corrected. But her form, she had to print up and travel to a town near hers that had a fedex to send me her signed original G325-A..... So it will take some time is she needs to reprint and re-sign it.

We did the same and first I was also worried a lot. But the worst thing that can be it is RFE . You will just send properly filled form and it will take you several days. At the same time it will mean that your case is processing. It also depends on a person who will review your case as well as mine. If we are lucky they will not pay much attention on that.

We noticed that after two months we sent it.

If you still didn't send it then if I were you I would wait it to be sent by your fiancée and send the correct form. Then you won't be worried about that.

Thanks for the response! I definitely appreciate it.

Yeah, I'm thinking about having her send a correction this week before I mail the packet. Although my Fiancee believes the lady, because she has a lot of K1 experience, but I can't see how this isn't a problem.

Especially since it says "I-129" which is a migrant worker form and should really say "I-129F"

I mean I know it's just an Other (specify) box, but an officer could decide to be really picky about that sort of thing I imagine....

Welcome to the forum. To aid in precision, you had a small error in your 129F petition package (not the "k-1 packet"), and you're sending the I-129F petition, not "applying for a K-1." The steps are:

-- petitioner files the 129F petition;

-- upon petition's approval, beneficiary applies for the K-1 visa.

It's important to distinguish between the steps. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
