a few pre- check list interview pkg questions for canadians

I have three questions hopefully someone can shed some light on.

1) Do I need both the petitioner and beneficiary need a "long form" birth cergificate for my interview....I am the beneficiary. I have ordered mine, but unsure if I need his info.

2) I dont know if my doctor can be reached shes long out of the country, SO can I get vaccination records from a travel agency? I was born in a different provence than I now reside.not sure where to get these. Not all health places have records.

3) I am in Canada where we have local police and RCMP...I have no criminal past, not even a speeding ticket. What kind of criminal record do I need. There seems to be a few kinds of checks, is there something specific I ask for? Also does it need to be done from RCMP?

1) You only need your own birth certificate.

2) Immunization records can be hard to track down. If all else fails you can make an appointment with a local immunization clinic and just get new shots done. Depending on when you were last immunized it may not even cost anything. They will then give you the documentation needed for your medical exam.

3) If you have no criminal history, the background check performed at your local police department should suffice.

Bring the petitioners birth certificate as well if you can and any original divorce decrees. Both Montréal and Vancouver have asked for these things. Especially original divorce decrees!

You can get blood tests to rule out any vaccinations you don't need but it may be easier to get the vaccines.

I hate the thought of having him send me his birth certificate in the mail. Does he need the long form birth certificate.? Im not sure his parents names are on his.

I'm in Manitoba and just called up the Winnipeg Regional Health Assocation office, and the lady there is sending me my immunization records in the mail. I had the option of picking them up as well. I have no idea how difficult it would be in other provinces but good luck!

Depends how long it is valid for.

Most countries it's about 6 months.

Get a certified copy from the county he was born in and send via courier vs USPS. No it doesn't need to be long form, but if you can that's great.

our original divorce decrees were sent with the NOA1 pkg. Will we need to get these done again?

Oh dear. You sent originals to the USCIS? You will need to get certified copies of those as well, yes. As a K1 you will need those for interview.

We can get the copies certified again, since he had to go to the county records to get copies the first time and then get them certified.. ..I didnt do the papers up....our lawyer did. He may of just copied those....hopefully.
