We don't need more mindless drones in our society, we need thinkers and creators. Making everyone monotone removes creativity and uniqueness.

What is "yanno?"

I think money into school programs especially arts and music, would be a more productive way to encourage creativity.

Yea, what he said

You know how we get, forgetting our place and what not... :reading:

Gonna say, isn't it Canadian? Like giv'er?

That's what I thought. Because Teddy uses it as well and his wife is from there.

You're cool as long as you don't use words like uppity. That was a mess I kept trying to clean up.

I think he was an okay guy, just was wound a tad too tight. That would be me if I didn't remind myself to remain awesome at all times. :goofy:

You should hear how we Kentuckians say "Louisville" sounds like Loo-vul

I'll get my husband to say it when he's home. He's the ine with the southern accent. ;)

Hey, I need a tan right now. Does that still count or are you going by the one drop rule? :content:

And never agree with Marv if you know what is good for you.

Freedom to express oneself positively is also another way to produce creativity. I do also agree with more arts in schools.

Plenty of opportunity to make your point outside of school, they were pushing it to see how far they could go,quite normal.

But the bullying was of another student at the school, so wearing the T-shirts at school was very much the appropriate forum.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

Simply put, the shirts did not, in fact, appear to be against the dress code until OTHER PEOPLE (not the students in question) began to make a big deal out of it. Rather than teach the students ACTUALLY causing problems some manners or making any attempt to deal with them, the students who were the TARGET of this disruption were asked to change.

This is akin to a student coming to school with her hair cut short and other students targeting her for this, calling her a boy, and her being blamed and sent home. Which, by the way, HAS happened in America.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

Thank you. They completely ignored the reason behind why the students chose to wear the shirts in the first place. Bullying in schools is consistently ignored in the U.S. and it sucks.

Schools should all have mandatory uniforms IMO.

just a quickie note - this happened in McKinney, the same city that had the barrel roll cop chasing the black teens.

You should hear how we Kentuckians say "Louisville" sounds like Loo-vul

that's the correct (but frenchified ) pronounciation.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
