ok so wanted to know say if somehow i was pregnant and its still awhile before i get an interview for my VWP aos how would i handle it i mean i don't have medical insurance and heard you cant get help from government as it will effect your application. any suggestions ?

I assume you are married since you are doing AOS, right? You can just have your husband to add you to his insurance and you'll be covered :)

Painful enough process as it is so best not to get pregnant.

I agree you should get yourself added to your Husbands Policy. Pregnant or not.

so, when applying for the AOS thingie,

you included the I-765 form, for Employment Authorization Document, which

after issuance,

allows you to get a SSN, which

allows you to be eligible for the Obamacare.

he could have added you the day after the ink dried on the marriage certificate,

as

marriage

is one of those life-changing events that has no limitations on calendar for getting you added.

Pay out of pocket for the appointments in the meantime? Once you get your SSN your husband should be able to add you on to his so it'll cover the remaining appointments.

I thought you did because my husband tried adding me on to his and they wouldn't let him without a social.

I am pregnant and applied for AOS; I am in Wisconsin and I went to social services and explained the situation and I received Badgercare which covers everything from dental, chiropractician, vision, medical appointments while pregnant; after birth, my baby will be covers under the same system and I wi have to get my own insurance! So far, everything was covered and I didn't have to pay a dime! I would ask for professional opinion at social services and also I would try community clinics and they might help ( worked in my case) and they could test to see if you are pregnant or not! No harm! I know what a SSN is, I know it's not a medical insurance number. I'm just saying they would not let him add me on without an SSN, he tried.

Only way I've seen it happen was using a TIN instead of a SSN and that's not the right way to do it.

My husband was able to add me to his US health insurance right after we were married in the UK and before I moved to the USA. I didn't have an SSN (or even my visa, yet!). Big company, so I guess they deal with that sort of thing all the time.

* I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London
3rd May 2013 - Married in London
7th May 2013 - I-130 filed
4th June 2013 - NOA2 (approved)
16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)
30th July 2013 - POE San Francisco
29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

 

* How? Read my DCF London I-130 for CR1/IR1 Spouse Guide

* Removal of Conditions (RoC) via California Service Centre
1st May 2015 - 90 day RoC window opened
6th May 2015 - I-751 filed (delivered 8th May, cheque cashed 18th May)
7th August 2015 - Approved / GC production
27th August 2015 - 10 year green card arrived

* Naturalisation (Citizenship) via Phoenix Lockbox

* San Francisco Field Office:
1st May 2016 - N-400 window opened
20th August 2016 - N-400 filed
26th August 2016 - NOA1
13th September 2016 - Biometrics

12th January 2017 - Biometrics (again)
