HELP please....so lost

I am from America & my boyfriend is from Argentina. We want to have to the first visit soon and need to know how to go about this (which Visa etc), we also want to work on him getting over here full time, how do we go about that? I have read A LOT and it's all very over whelming but I like the idea of a sponsor. How do we go about this? As a non-relative could I do that? He has a cousin here in the states, could we both sponsor him & he live with me & eventually marry if that comes along. We want to do everything by the book and legal. If we wouldn't be able to do that could we marry and then I sponsor him?

A sponsor would be for a work visa.

To visit he would need a B2 visa.

If you marry then you can sponsor him for an immigrant visa.
