can my fiancee apply for ssn right after landing in LAX

Fiancee visa status issued, so we're aiming for june 15 flight.. my question is can my fiancee apply for ssn the day after artival or he had to wait for his Work permit or green card? thanks

He can apply soon after arrival, but he needs to wait a few days so SSA can find his I-94. He doesn't need to wait until his EAD or residence permit. Many have suggested to get the SSN first before filing for AOS. Then you can use the SSN on the AOS documents, and you should get another SSA card after his EAD is completed.

SSA= Social Security Administration

SSN= Social Security Number

AOS= Adjustment of Status

EAD= Employment authorization document

He can apply the day after his arrival it should be good.

Driver License will depend upon which state he wants to drive

I have my girl using her Philippine license in Texas, Technically is not valid her, but police only car if you have insurance in my area...

He just needs passport and I-94 entry (which you can print online)

to apply for SS card.

I-94 entry can show up in 1 to 3 days.

If it doesn't he can go to local deferred inspections office

and get it updated on the spot.

Afterwards, he can apply for SS card immediately.

Hi Greenbaum. Sorry I don't understand what you meant by "twisting arrow below". Please expound. Thanks in advance!

You have to be on a PC and in VJ to see someone's signature and that is where you would find 'the twisting arrow". If your using your phone to access VJ you won't see it.
