11/14/2014 : NSC received I-130

04/08/2015 : RFE (missing signature)

04/18/2015 : Finally received RFE in mail, mailed back same day

04/21/2015 : They received corrected document

06/20/2015 : Their self-imposed deadline for response

I suppose I'm just looking for reassurance.. the vast majority of the information I've researched on RFE's suggests that the approval comes shortly after they receive the required evidence. If my paperwork was thoroughly looked over, and my case's approval hinged on the stupidly-overlooked signature, why has it taken 6 weeks thus far? Is this typical?

In my worry and impatience, I submitted an inquiry (abnormal processing time), if only to get my case poked. They responded next day simply asking me to allow more time for processing. I expected this, but I have a difficult time waiting idly.

Can anyone share their RFE processing times @ NSC? Advice to put my mind at ease? What happens if the deadline is met and I haven't received a response?
