I watched The Rachel Maddow Show from Friday, May 29. It seems that prosecutors make references to an 'Individual B' who corroborates 'Individual A's' sexual abuse claims versus Hastert, and possibly, there may be more persons 'involved'.

The drip, drip, drip of allegations of misconduct will keep this story alive for awhile...

Wilmore Goes After Fox’s Brit Hume for Defending Possible ‘Pedophile’ Dennis Hastert

Larry Wilmore went to great lengths Monday night to explain why it’s important that former House Speaker Dennis Hastert “may be a pedophile.” But he reserved most of his outrage for Fox News commentator Brit Hume, who for some reason has decided to defend him.

“No matter what your politics, I think we can all agree that nobody could actually be sympathetic towards Dennis Hastert, he said before he showed the clip from Fox News,” Wilmore said self-consciously.

From there, Wilmore played a clip of Hume defending Hastert from the individual who was allegedly “blackmailing” Hastert for upwards of $3.5 million.

“What about the extortion, are you saying the extortion should go unpunished as well?” he asked.

“No, I’m saying extortion isn’t as bad as child molesting,” Wilmore replied.

If I understand the history correctly, in the late 1990s, the President was impeached for lying about a sexual affair by a House of Representatives led by a man who was also then hiding a sexual affair, who was supposed to be replaced by another Congressman who stepped down when forced to reveal that he too was having a sexual affair, which led to the election of a new Speaker of the House who now has been indicted for lying about payments covering up his sexual contact with a boy.

Yikes.

I don't belong to a political party. I vote for the candidate that I feel is best regardless of their political party. We the people are more important than any political party.
