Hi sarah! We are having the same problem too. But we sent 1040 and w2 from IRS for the last 3years but still uscis hold our case and asked us to give more evidence for affidavit of support because his niece appeared on the record that he is supporting her too. So he failed to meet the poverty guidelines for 3person instrad of two. What we will do (hope and pray it will work) we will send the last 12 months of my hubby's bank transaction and its a prepaid card to. And we will ask for a letter of employment from his employer that he is working his job for almost 5yejob now. Thats the only option I see that is easy to provide.

You can send either transcripts or copies of the 1040. It doesn't matter. Either way, your good!

I really need help guys I've been on visa journey for quite a long time and I just need some assistance. I have signed to help on a half the affidavit of support because the individual doesn't make enough and the paperwork has been submitted once the paperwork has been submitted and we are now having problems with the individual can the affidavit of support be retracted once it is submitted please let me know

Are you talking about the I-134 (for a K1) or the I-864 (For adjustment of status)?

If you're talking about the I-134 then at the least you're not legally responsible for anything, it's more so just for them to judge if the immigrant will become a ward. Like a preview per se. After they see the I-134 (or don't since some consulates don't even ask), that's really all of your commitment. You simply don't help them with their adjustment of status later on with I-864.

If you're talking about the I-864 then that is legally binding and tbqh I don't know if you can get it back. If anything it's sitting in a box somewhere or still in the mail. I don't see them (the government) going and finding their file out of everyones file and removing the form, I also don't see your friends telling the government that you aren't supporting them anymore.

That said, if they're approved I don't know if you can retract it. It's considered a binding contract when you sign it, for the I-864 at least.

Generally you just can't go, oh no I changed my mind (for any reason), on a contract.

You can withdraw an I-864 if the green card has not yet been approved. Do it in writing. You can send a notarized letter, and also make an Infopass appointment and follow up in person to withdraw at your local USCIS office.

I did not read all the above answers but the co sponsor has to also fill out the I 864 with 3 tax returns unless they are retired and do not have to do a tax return. If that is the case, they would send copies of (I am assuming) retirement 1099R. I did not have to show assets as my income met the 125%. If he meets that, assests like owning home and value and savings are not necessary.
