The Massachusetts boy who was shot while riding his bike over the weekend is home from the hospital and recovering nicely, his family said.

“I was just riding my bike when I heard the shots,” Divan Silva, 7, told ABC affiliate WCVB-TV in Boston. “They were coming straight to me and then I fell off my bike.”

The second-grade Brockton boy was visiting family in Dorchester Sunday when he took a ride to the store for water. Private surveillance video captured the incident of the shooting on camera.

In the video, Divan comes around a street corner on his bicycle and soon after starts holding his leg as he passes in front of a barbershop.

He then is shown rolling off the bike and looking under his left thigh as blood stains the sidewalk. Police said Divan was shot in the buttocks. A 20-year-old man was also grazed in the head by a bullet. The window front of the barbershop was shattered.

Divan was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he reportedly had surgery Sunday night. He was released Wednesday, according to WCVB. But before he left, he had a chance to meet New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was at the hospital to visit children.

This is the first I've heard of this incident. I've been in Canada since Saturday and don't usually pay attention to the Mass news when I'm away.

That kid is caught in between a rock and a hard place. Dorchester and Brockton are two of the most violent cities in Mass. No word on whether the shooter has been apprehended or even a suspect in mind?

Got this from the link:

Authorities said a group of men was standing in front of the barbershop at the time of the shooting but police said they did not know who the target was. Authorities said the shooter was wearing a red hoodie and tan pants, and was between the ages of 14 and 18.

Hopefully they get the POS.
