F2A visa under AP

Hi! My kids just had their interview at the embassy. However, their passports are still at the embassy and they are under Administrative Processing. Is this normal procedure? How long Til they get their visa ?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Ages? What happened during the interview? Questions asked? Any red flags? AP in general can last a day or two or up to weeks. Worst cases I've read for Philippines is 4 months. There's really no specific timeframe.

I'm Hoping my kids can get their visa soon and they can be here with me. They don't have anyone there in the phils to really take good care of them. All my siblings has their own family. My mom has passed away already. I'm So worried especially for my two small ones. What might be the best thing to do with my dilemma? Will they be approved and issued a visa soon?

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Just keep checking CEAC for any update like change in dates. That's a good sign because it means someone is flipping through their case file. Good luck!

Hello momof4kids.. We have d same situation. Done my intervw may21.. Submitted the joint sponsor the CO asked for.. Case updated last june8.. Till now it's under AP status. My hubby and all my 2 kids are already in the states and they are all terribly waiting for me. This is very upsetting..

No one can say when you will get your visa. Best you can do now is wait and have patience. It will come soon and you will be on your way. Don't check CEAC every hour or that will drive you crazy. Just check once a day.

Hi! I got an email from the embassy suggesting for a DNA test last Thursday night. So yesterday I went for my DNA testing appointment. I do hope after the embassy gets all the results of the DNA tests, they will be kind enough to give my kids their visas. The DNA lab staff told me it will be at least a month when the embassy will get the results for me and my kids. Really praying that after this, I can get my kids here with me. ???

Why need of DNA tests? This will just delay visas.. Are the proofs not enough to supoort that they are really ur kids? This is just addtnl gastos and addtnl waiting game
