How much time between the interview letter&interview date

Hi:

I was wondering how advance we get the interview letter ?Do they send it 3 months before the scheduled date?How much time do we usually have between the time that we get the interview letter and interview date?

I'm also curios when people start studying for the test?

I started studying for the test when I got my greencard, I know thats a little extreme, but now that I am so close to my citizenship, I am glad I did, I'm ready to go once I get that interview letter.
