I overstayed my visa in the US. Will that affect if I try for a tourist visa for Canada?

I overstayed in the US for more than 1 year.

Left to come back to Brazil voluntarily. That was in 2009.

Now I have a stable job, and want to go to Canada for vacation.

I filled out a tourist visa application.

What are my chances?

Hi,

This is a website for US immigration. You may want to find and post your question on a Canada immigration website.

No one can tell you what your chances are because no one knows your circumstances. No one can tell you your chances. You can only know whether you can get a visa by applying.

I understand that. I told the circunstances above.

Just wondering if anyone has seen any cases like this.

I heard that Canada and the US now share lots of information related to immigration.

Do you know a website like this for Canada? I would appreciate if you send me the link. Thanks!

US and Canada share data.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I do not know of a site. Use Google.

You are not understanding that your brief post does not contain all your circumstances. Your circumstances is much more detailed than what you have posted. Your circumstances is more than "a stable job, overstaying for a year in the US, and wanting to go to Canada for a vacation." What type of job? How long have you had it? What social and familial ties do you have to home? What ties do you have in Canada? Lots more than you think.

US and Canada immigrations does work together since we share a very long border.
