My fiancee went to buy her ticket and it says that she needs to fill out an ESTA online in order to board the plane 72 hours before departure. What is this and does she really need this? Im kind of concerned.

"The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens of participating countries* to travel to the United States without a visa for stays of 90 days or less, when they meet all requirements explained below. Travelers must be eligible to use the VWP and have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel."

The Philippines is not a VWP country anyway. You have nothing to worry about, she comes on a K1 visa and everything will be fine.
