Question 23 "Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason?"

i read through many post online but still couldn't find answer to what they mean by "detained." - is it something where you were just questioned on street/car? or where you were taken to police station/law office?

do we include situation where we were stopped by a cop for speeding but they end up letting you go with just the warning?(no written part, just verbal warning)

also, mainly i am confused about following situation.

how about cop pulls you over and ask you question regarding DUI. ultimately after question and tests he find no alcohol in system and he lets you go without any written document?

is this something needs to be included as well?

there is no reason to lie on application but at the same time not sure if this is too much of information to provide on form and which could make process harder than it is for no reason. also saw somewhere that they require proof, but in this cases there are no proof as cops never gave any written warning, and driving record says its all clean too. not sure how would one answer this question. any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

What you described didn't sound like an arrest, detention, or citation. The instructions only ask you list times you were arrested, detained, or cited.

If you had walked away from the police officer, he may have arrested or detained you, but that's not what happened. So if all you got was a warning (verbal or written) I don't think it needs to be listed.

That's just my understanding of the question.
