waiting to be called for the interview

Hi guys, I sent my I-485 along with I-130 at the beginning of January, I received the confirmation mails regarding all form I sent soon after that. I obtained my work permit I believe In march but after almost 6 months they still have to call me for the interview and i m wondering if I actually wrote and did everything in the proper way. would 6 months a reasonable time not to be called yet? another thing I m afraid of, they send me a mail regarding a missing marriage certificate regarding the I-485, I remember after a couple of days I immediately sent in the way was instructed, now I have never gotten a confirm they received that missing certificate. Is there a way i can check everything is ok with it? if I check on line it says that I m scheduled for an interview and soon I will get a mail with all the instructions, but it has been like that since February probably.

what do you guys think?

thank you

Call them and explain what's happening, or request an infopass ASAP. Did they ever send you a letter saying you won't be needing an interview??

They won't get an interview waiver, as they are not adjusting from a K-1. They will have an interview. They just posted in the wrong forum.

Some USCIS offices have backlog and can take them months to schedule an interview. As for the question about an Infopass > http://www.uscis.gov/news/fact-sheets/your-guide-infopass

OP> Could you also please fill in your timeline correctly. You did not apply for a spousal visa(IR-1/CR-1) if you filed for AOS. What visa are you adjusting status from that you entered the US with?

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based Visas to AOS from Work, Student & Tourist Visas Progress Reports - topic is case status from non-family-based visa~

You'll definitely get an interview then shortly. Most USCIS local field offices are really backlogged nationwide and that's the perfect reason for the long delay. I had mine 6 months after filing.

You should wait until you receive the letter for the interview. When I filled my I485 on the end of July, I received my interview letter by the end of December. If I were you, I'll just wait for the interview letter. I will focus on getting all the documents ready for the interview.

Good Luck

You need to call and find out if they ever received your marriage certificate, inquire about your next actions if they never got it. If this is the case do as instructed and mail it again if necessary. And of course wait for the change in status from "We are ready to schedule the interview" to "Interview scheduled". It may take a while

Search for your field office at the bottom of this page and it will show you your local office's processing time: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do Not really that accurate, but it will give you an idea if your local office is backlogged.

Took us 8 months from filing to interview date.
