Hi.. I'm new to this can any one give me and updated checklist for the I 130.. my husband and I are doing our self. And I wanna make sure everything is correct so there is no delay. And just to make you know I am abroad and he is in the USA.

Hey NLR...thanks it's makes me feel better ..I have two questions maybe you can help me with...

1. On the ez guide there is something missing in the iv packet section ...it says certificate but it doesn't say what certificate.

2. We don't have much evidence because we didn't think we would be at this stage..but I have a ton of emails from Facebook to WhatsApp to Skype the list goes on.. about how many pages do I need to print? I know I'm well over 1500. And do I need to print from every site we talk and text on?

Hi,

The I-130 leads to a visa.

First, you file the I-130 and supporting forms and documents. USCIS will then approve the I-130 and send it to the NVC. The NVC will contact you to pay more fees and file the I-864 Affidavit of Support. The NVC will instruct your foreign spouse to apply for an immigration visa based on the approved I-130.

I 130 is the petition your spouse (you said IR1/CR1, right?) will file for you, in order for you to get a immigrant visa. As said, it is the first step in the visa process. Take a look in "guides" http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides , they are very helpful.

USCIS:

2015/3/23: I-130 Sent: (Let's start the waiting game!)

2015/3/25: NOA1 Sent by email, case routed to the USCIS California Service Center (hardcopy 2015/6/4)

2015/4/21: NOA2 (email; got hardcopy in 2015/5/6)

NVC:

2015/5/21: Got NVC case # and IIN

2015/5/29: Filled DS261 online

2015/6/1: Payed AOS fee online

2015/6/5: Sent AOS and IV packages

2015/6/8: DS261 reviewed over the phone

2015/6/8: Scan Date

2015/7/5: Payed IV fee online

2015/7/8: Filled DS260

2015/7/23: Checklist!!

2015/7/25: Checklist Scan Date

2015/8/18: NVC CC

2015/9/11: Interview Scheduled for October 8th (no letter yet, just called NVC!)

2015/10/1: Medical

2015/10/8: Interview - Approved!!!

2015/10/30: POE

Immigration laws have not changed much in the last 15 years. CSPA was probably the most significant change and that happened in 2000.

You can pretty much rely on most of the stuff from the last 15 years. Only minor things have changed. The information above has not changed for a long time.

The guides I provided you in another thread are not out of date. Some of the form names in our official guide ARE, however we have the wiki guides to supplement.

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

1) I correct the EZ guide.

2) print a selection that shows your marriage and communication over the course of your relationship.
