Need Help Clarifying

A few weeks ago I posted a response I got from my local senators office. She told me that my "case has been assigned to an officer for review. No decision yet, but it’s a good indication that yours has been pulled from the pile. " Several people responded that this was good news. I had assumed, that the women who is helping me (who is wonderful!) requested to have my case expedited. I had previously requested to have my case expedited, and got a response very fast. The women has kept me updated that my application is still with an officer, and typically takes 30 days to process. Today, I asked her if it was a good thing it was with an officer and if he denies it, does my application go to the back of the line? She responded; "Yes, it’s a good thing it is with an officer. Means it has been picked off the shelf and is getting some attention. If they don’t see everything they need in the application materials, they typically send out a request for additional information to the applicant. " I am wondering now, does this mean my case was not requested for an expedite (again), but is actually nearing the end of the process at the TSC? I am so afraid to be hopeful, but this would be wonderful news!

Did you put in an expedite request? On what basis were you requesting an expedite? > http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria

Sounds as if they are just saying your case is still being processed, as are many others at the backlogged TSC. If your case is on an adjudicator's desk, then yes, you should be receiving an RFE or a decision soon. Looks like that will fit in with the typical timelines, since you are just over 5 months now, according to your timeline.
