Can I choose my own interview date if approved for one?

Hi,

I am in the process of applying for a fiance visa for my mate in Cambodia and would like to know if upon approval, would I have the choice to choose my own interview dates? Doing so would be more convenient since I know when to request off work and purchase tickets. Thank you.

The US Embassy in Cambodia assigns the interview date after you send them packet 3.
