My fiance's tourist visa expired about 5 months ago, we want to get married. I want to know what I have to do to get her an AOS and a SSN and a work permit.

I'm thinking we have to first get a marriage certificate, then I think we should be able to go to the ss office to get a SSN, then get a marriage ceremony. then file for a AOS

do i have anything I'm missing or the anything that's wrong?

Also would it be better to file for marriage before or after the 180 days and if after what are the complications.

Well first of all, no one is gonna give her a SSN if she's out of status. Second, if she was on a tourist visa, SSN are not even given out to those kind of visitors (about 95% sure).

You can get married without a SSN, of that I'm 100% sure. Then you have to take her to get a medical exam done, file AOS and wait. Prepare for an about 6 mos process.

My guess

She is here visiting and has overstayed. Probably not her Visa which was in any case defunct as soon as she overstayed.

Assuming he is a USC they can adjust after marriage, no SSN needed.

she had a six month visa and she over stayed almost 180 days soon. so about 1 year. I met her 3 weeks after she got to the states.

Get married, gather all the necessary evidence and file. That's the route I would take.

That all sounds pretty fishy. Did you ever took into consideration that she only wants to marry just to stay in the U.S.?

I would be very careful, if this turns to be out to be a faked marriage it easily can fire back on yourself at some point.

Wanting to marry a USC is well-known desire for many foreigners,

and essentially most of VJ-ers are going through it.

I don't see anything particularly fishiness in the story...

What's more fishy about this one than most other VJ filers?
