People fail all the time. Don't worry. I failed my first test too. I also had an unkind examiner who was vague. I should have asked him to clarify what he meant, but I was nervous. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand what they ask of you!

The day I failed I went home and scheduled another one at a different location --I suggest you do the same! I passed with a much nicer examiner. Good luck!

she didn't asked me for any parking, she was too mad before she came to me , she was shaking her head like i don't know how to drive, i wanted really to stop and tell her that i failed just because of your way of treating me, i felt like she want to drive in my behalf, and the problem that i really was driving good, i dont know why she charged me lot of things that really i know i didn't do

This reminds me of when I was 16 and failed. I was waiting for the woman to call my name and she came rushing in with the guy (also a teen) she just rode with. She was yelling at him and his mother. She said she should never be allowed on the road. My heart was already racing the whole office was staring at her she made such a scene. I had heard of this woman before.

Anyway, I got her. I was super nervous, made one mistake that I don't even remember and she failed me. I do remember she was so upset that one time I when I asked her kindly to repeat herself because I hadn't heard her well she refused and was just so rude.

I failed the test. Came back in a month or so (whatever the rule was back then). Got another instructor who was CALM and I passed with flying colors.

I know how you feel but you are not alone.

My mom went to take the road test when she was in her late 40's,

and she hit another parked car next to her, so they failed her on the spot...only 2 feet into the driving. :D

Driving is not easy for everyone, but with practice one should be able to pass.

The thing is you need to know what they are looking for and practice those.

Depending on the area, but it could include the following...

1) Able to drive safely

2) Able to obey traffic signs

3) Makes complete stop at the STOP sign right at the white line

4) Uses turn signals to turn or change lanes

5) Can parallel park

6) Can uphill or downhill park

7) Can drive at posted speed limit

8) Use two hands on steering wheel

9) etc.

people fail all the time -- consider the two reasons you failed:

You said yourself you were driving too slow, and it looks like she agreed. And if you crossed into the wrong lane -- even a little bit -- a lane violation also makes sense.

So rather than thinking you can never pass the test, or blaming the woman, get out there and practice -- you now know exactly what to expect.

Yes i know now what to expect , thanks for your comment

Were you? Maybe you think you were but to her you weren't. You say yourself that you aren't confident yourself to drive again, maybe you shouldn't be driving than. You should practive more with someone who is confident, you could learn a thing or two.

Yes i was driving with somebody all the time and i paid for training hours too, always i was driving exactly like it should , and always correcting my driving according to what the instructor says , in the end i was driving perfectly , but this is whats happened

Yes thanks for your help,

regardless of the few mistakes i made , the examiner i had was unkind and vague too, she started shaking her head from the beginning while i was driving correctly in a simple road, i was asking myself what she is doing? and what she is trying to tell me? she was weird , she made me upset , i hope i will get a better one when i'm ready again and when i will practice more and more

I suspect the speed part was "making progress" - it's considered dangerous to other road users if you do not make progress as they may get angry/frustrated, and try and get past you. You may not see this as your fault, but actually from the inspectors point of view, and the other road users it is. Often drivers who are not confident drive too slowly, and fail that way.

More practice, build up your confidence, and put your foot down a little :)

This thread makes me nervous as heck to take a driving test now lol I am 34 years old and have never had a license. Finally sticking my fear in the backseat and going for my permit once I get my new eyeglasses. Don't worry Zaynab, you can always try again and if it makes you feel any better I will most likely fail my first try too. Not because I have no faith in myself, I really do, I am just horrible at backing up and have a hard time figuring out how close I am to curbs and such, Practice makes perfect, you will get your license :content:

My husband failed twice. Between the 2nd and 3rd attempt, I signed him up for a couple of hours behind the wheel with a driving instructor. I think it was around $50-75, if I remember correctly. It was extremely helpful. Each country has their own unique styles of driving. The instructor was able to give him gentle advice (and it's easier to take instructions from a stranger rather than someone you know and love).

He passed the third time without even a tick against him.
