It's so simple. But for some, it appears to be the most complicated concept to grasp.

Cool then Ted Cruz does not represent most republicans

He represents Republicans in Texas. Without their support, he would not be a US Senator.

Next.

He represents everybody, not just those who voted for him, that is how it works.

There is that.

But he no more represents Republicans than ISIS represents Muslims.

He represents Texas now in the Senate. He does not represent anyone outside of that state, however. But let us not forget that Texans at large got to cast their vote for or against him only because Republicans in Texas decided to nominate him over another Republican candidate - Lt. Governor David Dewhurst. So the blame for the embarrassment that is Ted Cruz in the US Senate rests primarily with Texas Republicans.

There is that.

Nonsense. Republicans elected Cruz to be their candidate and it was through their support that he became a US Senator. When and where have Muslims elected and supported ISIS to be their leaders?

Of course he does not represent anubody outside the State.

Not that familiar with how things work in Texas but for example I know people in my country who have registered as Republicans or Democrats in different Counties in Colorado as that is the only way the get to vote on who is the nominee.

So who knows.

And anyway as has been said about you could be a Muslim and support ISIS bit that does mean that you are responsoble for ISIS activities.

Here's an excerpt from the OT-forum thread "Mrs. T-B. & the Citizenship Test, Si Man":

T-B.: "How many U.S. Senators are there?"

Mrs. T-B.: 100!

T-B.: Good! "Who does a U.S. Senator represent?"

Mrs. T-B.: [blank silence]

T-B. [helpfully]: If there are two Senators per state, who would they represent?

Mrs. T-B. [excitedly]: Every other person!

T-B. [to self]: :bonk:
