Review of my wife interview

My wife had her interview May 8th. I was unable to be with her at the interview. So I will try to give a helpful review of what she told me.

First thing I will recommend is book a room at a hotel close to embassy. My wife lives in manila, but we still thought it was best if she could be closer to the embassy for her 6 am appointment. I book a room for her at manila bay hotel right across from the embassy.

My wife told me she went to the embassy at 4 am. I do not know if a person needs to arrive that early or not but my wife told me the lines was starting to form. I ask her if the process was confusing. She told me it was, but their was helpful people there that will direct a person to the right spot. I think my wife told me there are like 5 steps involve.

As far as the interview. My wife told me she was interview first by a very nice Filipina lady in tagalog. One of the question the lady ask my wife was if my wife had a prior marriage. My wife did not understand exactly what the lady was asking and the lady smile and explain the question more.

After the Filipina lady was done. My wife was interview by an American guy. She say the guy was nice but it was hard for her to understand him as he use a lot of slang words, but he only ask her 3 questions. what is My name? How did we meet? ( my wife told me she was not sure at first if she answer correctly as she told him we met on a site on-line. I told her that was correct, as that is how we first met) He also ask her if we had any kids.

My wife also told me that some of the American officer spoke tagalog as she heard them speak it but the officer interviewing her did not. after awhile there was silent so My wife ask the American officer if he was finish and he told her they was reviewing her documents.

The Embassy did ask for all the civil documents for my wife, They did not ask to see the tax info I sent her. In the interview letter it state the nvc send the tax info to the embassy, so maybe the embassy already had it. However I will still recommend a person take a copy of the AOS packet with them to the interview. They also only wanted to see pictures that my wife bought to her interview. They did not ask to see any of our face book or text mgs chat

In conclusion it seems overall my wife had a fairly simple easy interview. She was finish at 9:30 am. After chatting with my wife and reading other reviews. It seem if the person has all of their documents and is well prepare. The interview should be a very simple smooth process. If a person does not have all their documents or can not answer simple questions right away, most likely the interview will take a lot longer and be a lot harder.

Good luck to anyone that has interview soon. I hope this review help a little

She is waiting on delivery of the visa and passport. Ceac site says issued but i cannot get a tracking result on the 2GO website. It says invalid when i put in the case number. My fiance is disappointed because a girl she made friends with at the embassy who had her interview the same day got hers about 5 days later.

Congrats

I googled one hotel off Pedro Gil called Manila Bay it was running about $125 per night.

If that's the one we gonna call you High Roller.........

yes it was manila bay but I book it thru expedia for $80.00 dollar a night .

Of course I book it end of march when my wife got the interview letter

Beside the less stress ,like fighting traffic or some reason running late for interview, not having to worry abut stuff like that on interview day is worth the price

I'm currently in Citi Garden Suites. Its close to St Luke's and the Embassy. Its a clean 3 star. I paid $52 per night.

Do you mean New World Manila Bay? I have a reservation there on the 25th. It used to be the Hyatt. Do you recommend this hotel for the interview?
