Timeline

It depends on the airport; some have specific immigrant lines, some want you to go in the visitor line, some say it is ok to go with the US citizen, especially if you have USC kids with you too.

Generally, there is someone in uniform directing people at the entrance to the passport lanes, so ask.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
