I am an American petitioner of my English husband. he just received his interview date for the 16 of june but it's the very week of my delivery date (i'm pregnant!). my husband is here with me in American right now to ride out the last few weeks of my pregnancy together and we had hoped to experience the birth of our first child together as well. if we went on the online embassy contact form and asked to have the interview rescheduled, would it push back the process several months? I've heard stories of some people having to wait several months after rescheduling for a new interview date and i'm worried about that. also how long do they take to respond to an inquiry about rescheduling?

Just a thought but can't you try and get an expedite instead, so you get an interview date sooner? Doesn't hurt to ask.

the interview date is on june 16th but he'd have to leave for England earlier for the medical exam and then come back 10-15 days after the interview date with his visa in hand. so if he asked for an earlier date then he'd have to leave somewhere between now and the next two weeks to go back to England. I could go into labor really any time between now and the end of June.

Reschedule the interview.

In the space to explain--

I need to reschedule my June 16 interview because I will be in the US with my wife for the birth of our first child. Please can you move my interview to the week of July 13-17 when I will be back in the UK. Thank you for any consideration you can give me.

Ask for a date. They have accommodated others with a similar request including us. Doesn't hurt to ask for exactly what you want. Ask early and it will be easy to give you your requested date.
