FB1 (F1 Case) Priority Date May 2010 - Can sisters visit and attend my wedding before Visa # becomes available

Hello All, my sisters have been approved and a case # assigned for F1 Case ((F1) Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens) with a priority date of May 17th, 2010. Currently waiting for a Visa Number which might take additional 3 years to reach them based on current PRD. My question to the group is there any way they can visit and attend my wedding in August 2015. Has anyone encounter this issue and able to visit prior to reaching the PRD. Looking forward to your suggestions.

In summary, can you visit the U.S and attend a wedding with a pending immigrant Visa application?

They can attempt to obtain a B-2 visa.

If they are Nigerian nationals, this will be close to impossible.

Is there no exception to the rule on emergency grounds, such as seeing one's sick relative, weddings, birthdays and all. It's annoying you can't even come to visit.

Wedding is not an emergency.

If they do not have a visa then they apply for one.

My sisters have a pending immigrant visa application (F1 Case: Unmarried sons and daughters of US Citizens) with a priority date of May 2010. I have my wedding coming up in August 2015 and I really want them to be there. is there an exception or a policy that can grant my sisters a temporary visitor's Visa to attend my wedding pending their immigrant Visa application. They are both based in Nigeria and working there as well.

There is nothing stopping them but they are already showing they plan to immigrate to the U.S. With this petition in place and the officers at the embassy will see and know this so the chances of getting a visitors visa especially for that particular country as well are about .01 % but they are allowed to try yes and if approved visit but must return when the visit is expected to be up/before visa expires .

Birthdays, weddings? Far from emergencies. They'll just have to apply for a tourist visa, but may get denied because of the pending visa.

My dad is a US Citizen, so he applied for them and they have been approved, but their Priority Date is still way out here.

I understand, they will be applying for the Visitor's VISA anyways. I was just trying to see if there is a way to bolster their case for a temporary Visitor's Visa

It's Nigeria a high fraud country. Why would they give them a visa knowing they have pending immigrant visas already. Weddings nor birthdays constitute emergency. Congrats on the upcoming nuptials though. ..

Me thinks the sisters might have a (slightly) better than average chance of a B2 for a sibling wedding. What would the sisters gain by risking their already approved F1 petition by overstaying the B2, as a GC is "just" three years away? Maybe that's the optimist in me..
