The artist who made that sculpture is Catholic. There is a distinct difference between what he did and an event put on and attended by known extremists for the purpose of antagonizing a specific religeous group. And the piss Jesus, while it may be in poor taste, is not considered by theologists to be blasphemous or sacrilege.

And if you read up on it, the nut jobs did show up. They just happened to bring hammers instead of guns.

Christians don't have an issue with depicticting Jesus. You tend to see pictures, art and statues all over the place. A fairer question would be to ask when have Christians killed non-Christians for committing acts of blasphemy.

I've seen plenty of derogatory cartoons, etc about Jesus. I'm guessing Christians killing non Christians over blasphemy doesn't happen frequently today.

Depends where you live. The so called "witch hunt" against children in Nigeria comes to mind.
