File CR1..... K3's were implemented like a decade ago when the USCIS was not processing application in a timely manner. I am not sure that they will QUOTE/UNQUOTE cancel it... But, USCIS is now processing applications in a timely manner and it quite likely the K3 and the CR1 route will take the same amount of time, but the K3 costs alot more.

Cr1 petitions average between 8month-14 months from start to finish.

If you don't know the answer to a question, don't guess, by far the fee for a k3 is less, not more

to the OP- K-3 is obsolete and rarely, if every issued anymore. They were an option when the CR1 used to take several years to process, it would allow the beneficiary into the US and AOS here, but now cr1 takes only about a year, therefore making the the k3 obsolete.. An i129a petition for the k3 can only be filed with a pending i130

In the end, because of the adjustment of status, the K3 route costs more even though the path to the visa costs less.

I dont mind being corrected, if I am in the wrong. I dont have much pride for this stuff, I am just trying to help folks who have not done as much research as I have.

Sorry, the fees listed above were just a little bit outdated. Here is the updated link straight from VisaJourney:

K-3 Married 20.5 Months ( TOTAL TIME) USD $1705

After entering the US, may file for AOS within two years or instead wait for I-130 to be approved and pursue

IR-1 / CR-1 Visa. IR-1 / CR-1 16 Months (TOTAL TIME) USD $903

Visa holder automatically becomes a Legal Permanent Resident after entering the US. Can work and travel freely.

HARD LINK:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare

So as you can see, there is a signicant price difference.....

Not to mention the fact that as soon as the Cr1 beneficiary enters through a POE , THEY AUTOMATICALLY BECOME an LPR ( Legal permanent resident )

Please fill in your time line, so we can see where you are from.,.,.,and what has happened, to you so far.

Are you willing to share why your K-1 was turned down? If not ok,.,.., we just try to learn. Sometimes we can help.
