Hi all. I received this e-mail from my local senators office the other day. I am terrified to be too happy. How hopeful/happy do you think I can realistically be?

Hi xxx,

Some positive news for you before the weekend. I was told today that your case has been assigned to an officer for review. No decision yet, but its a good indication that yours has been pulled from the pile.

Ill continue checking in with USCIS and let you know of any additional progress next week.

Thanks,

That's great!

Did you request their help? Or did they initiate the contact? I'm only 1 month behind you, so that's very encouraging. Did your online case status update?

Congratulations!

We can do it.

I would not be too hopeful, but that is just my type of personality.

I am a very positive person, but when it comes to relying on the government, I NEVER put all my chicken eggs in one basket.

Hopefully you will get your NOA2 soon!

How did you get them to do that? What is your NOA-1 date?

Anyway, I'd be cautious. We had people being told they were assigned an officer and they waited another 2 months - I cam crossing my fingers your's is quicker.

HI, I am sorry I am not up to date on all the "lingo" but my K-1 application was accepted at the TSC on December 10, 2014. Literally, I call or send an email to all the senators/congressmen in Maine, the governor, and president, weekly. They know who I am, and I am sure I am a joke to them and their office, but my hope is if I keep on them they will attempt something just to get me off their back. I hope/pray so much this is a good step in the right direction. Even if it is another 2 month wait, that seems bearable, just because I know something. I am sure we can all agree the unknown and when drives you crazy!

oh, and on the USCIS website, nothing has been changed or noted on my page.

We were told on February 18th that our petition was with an adjudicator. It took another month before they approved us. It doesn't mean nothing, big at the same time, it doesn't mean anything either.

It is great to see a Senator, do something good for somebody.,...,.and actually respond.

I hope this is a sign of the future, so many need their Senator's help, and we hear so little about affirmative help.

good luck and hope all comes through very soon.

The process takes time, the squeakiest wheel often does not get the grease when it comes to the government. I don't think the governor can do much for you either, you might as well write the mayor also.

I was told this twice before my petition was actually approved, not including the time before it actually was. You're a December filer, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Ya never know, but there are still so many people ahead of you and who have waited longer.

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

Congrats! I am wondering if your expedites/representative have anything to do with that - technically you are 'early' for TSC.

No matter, wishing you a speedy visa issuance!

Congrats! I am wondering if your expedites/representative have anything to do with that - technically you are 'early' for TSC.

No matter, wishing you a speedy visa issuance!

There was interview with a former adjudicator her on VJ regarding congressional/senator inquiries:

"Congressionals were pulled by the congressional office and routed to the appropriate supervisor for dissemination to his employee's to work with a short turn around time."

A "Congressional Inquiry" or "congressional" is a formal inquiry by a member of Congress made on behalf of their constituent. Any federal agency that receives a Congressional inquiry has 48 hours to respond to the member of Congress. Each Service Center has a special office to handle "Congressionals". That's their sole purpose in life is to keep the member of Congress informed upon request.

(i.e. Senator Numbnuts says "CIS - I understand from my constituent - Mr. Hotn'bothered that (according to him) you have been processing his application for his dear fiancé in a less than timely manner. Can you please look into this matter and let my office know when it will be approved.")

System usually says - "pull and work file immediately" 'Nuff said."

Basically, because congressional are such a pain for the CIS folks to respond to and a very serious matter, I would not take them lightly, and give them the serious consideration they deserve. Sounds like you appreciate this fact.

So, I would never encourage a person to just file a "congressional" to jump the line" or move ahead of everyone else. That's not the purpose. I only recommend you use this last resort when the system has broken down for some reason in your case or there are extraordinary circumstances that require an immediate intervention by your representative (i.e. deportation hearing etc...).

I would say if your application has not been worked with its normal date group within a reasonable amount of time taking into account the additional time a security hit might take to resolve, then it might be appropriate. But, I would err on the side of patience and use it only as a last resort. I say this to be fare to all the other people waiting patiently in line with you.

--

To the OP. It's awesome to know your papers arent lost or still in the storage shelves. Your adjudicator will eventually get to your papers. It is ok to hope, but don't expect an approval to happen now-ish.
