Hello to all, I just wanted to ask if anyone have tried opening the site www.USCIS.gov and checking the status of their case? Because every time I want to check "My Case Status" an error always appears.

When you check your case status, did it give you an update of your case? I just check mine now and it's always the same. Its always Validation error and it says the USCIS cannot provide me any information on my case. Is that normal?

Have you tried calling them about it? This error does happen to some people, ever since the website went to the new format. Have you tried signing up and adding your case that way?

No we haven't tried calling them yet, we were hoping will get a mail from them in a few days about our NOA2. Yes i have signed up and added my case but it's always the same.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I received an error once ( Could not locate search )

lol, Are you using SELECT+COPY+PASTE? Be sure there is no spaces before or after the receipt number. Because it will throw an error.

No space, I just typed in what they have given us as our receipt number including the location WAC....

It's always the same validation error and says they cannot provide information at the moment.

I am using my phone and not my computer, is there a difference?

I have checked the case status on my ipad without problem. If this computer problem lasts longer than 48hours/ 2 business days.... I would call the USCIS Hotline, definitely.

And just a heads up tomorrow they will do system maintenance and it will be offline for a few hours:

USCIS will conduct system maintenance Sunday, May 3 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During this time, our online tools will be unavailable, including:

Change of Address Online
Check My Case Status
Check Processing Times
e-Filing
e-Request
FOIA Status Check
Forms by Mail
InfoPass
Office Locator

At least that might ease your mind if you still can't get it to work during the weekend.

Yes, I get the same error. I called a week or more ago and they said it was because of system maint/updates. Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

  • At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information.

The update on the website that was done in November is doing a TON of cases that way. There's nothing wrong with yours. If it's been recently filed you'll have to allow 45 days for the most current up to date status to be made available. If it's not, call. But, if you call, they'll tell you it's technical issues with the website. No worries!
