I recently started my timeline. And now we're at the California service Center.

I looked at our timeline profile and it looks great .. except that in the box below ...where the "Embassy" is named.... it says "Armenia" and not Moscow" !!

I changed it twice, but it keeps reverting to "Armenia" !! Can anyone help with this silly issue?

......I did find the update button after removing the Embassy designation to 'blank' listing on my timeline/profile. I checked back after I did it and it was gone:)

I received Visa Journey email affirming I had made an update. When I clicked on that same live link, and saw the ' Embassy' block, "Armenia" had reappeared ...it was again there!! :((((. I can't figure it out!

Hi Again!

I waited until I received the official receipt letter and then called the USCIS Customer Service regarding this issue of Visa Journey listing our assigned Embassy as being far away in Armenia and not in Moscow. But they said at this point they have no status information on our case yet.. and to wait 30 days or so. This really adds to the stress.... Moscow is only a simple overnight train ride from Larisa's home!

... and the time, stress and costs will be much higher.

Has anyone ever been assigned to an Embassy in a different country when there is a perfectly good Embassy close by in the home country?

Does anyone know how or why Visa Journey at this point would intentionally list our Embassy as being in Armenia when the USCIS has no status info except our account number?

Is there "customer service" for Visa Journey with whom I can speak with? Anyone who has some authority or insider knowledge?

Thanks again ... in advance for any help or any good ideas :-)

NVC will send your approved petition to the embassy closest and assigned to the beneficiary. It will get to the right place.

The info on VJ has no impact on your actual petition. VJ apparently has some sort of issue with Armenia being the default in the timeline, but this is just on VJ, not with USCIS or NVC.

You have to pick an embassy. It will not stay blank. It will always default to Armenia.

Thanks for replying...

I had previously written that I did click onto Moscow as the Embassy of choice, but when going back into VJ

and onto the same page, it always had reverted back to Armenia. It must be just a "thing" with VJ !

So I'm just going to have faith the NVC will be consistent and send us to Moscow :-)

What your timeline on VJ says has nothing to do with USCIS. LOL Everything in VJ is manually inputted. There is no connection between VJ and the USCIS or NVC. This is simply a forum so people can get help with their process instead of spending thousands of dollars on a lawyer.

Don't worry, if the beneficiary is residing in Russia, they will interview in Moscow.

I'd like to get back to this issue, as I'm having the same problem. Every time I update our timeline I find that the consulate has been re-set to Armenia, even though I save that field as blank...every time. Our Consulate is not Armenia - our consulate is not on the list. The system should be set up to leave that field blank as a default, when no selection is made. Not only is it annoying, the site statistics are skewed, as a result, from the inaccurate data being collected.
