Just to get this straight. The cause of the rioting is not because of racism. The victim and the police were all Black (excluding of course the three White officers involved in the original arrest.)

But, the rioting is racist because the rioters are avoiding damages to Black owned businesses and property?

i don't think the whole of the rioting was racist. the la riots certainly had that aspect as well, because of denny getting beat and other racially motivated violence. racism is an aspect, sure.

If we were talking about countries, that would be the 16th biggest economy in the world, but it's not a country, it's the combined buying power of a group of people who are part of this country: African-Americans.

We needn't get this way by not working. It's apparent that some people on VJ who spend most of their time posting about black people need to be in this picture getting job applications shot at them.

A pocket swiss army knife is not a concealed weapon. If it were please make sure to line up a special task force to arrest boy scouts and the elderly. He and anyone else has the right to carry such a knife 'concealed' or not on their person. It is not a crime. It is not even borderline illegal. There was no probable cause to arrest, search, or seize. And by the way, they didn't even try to make up a good probable cause 'excuse' in this case. They didn't witness him with a knife. The knife was discovered after the fact, and holding him on such a charge would of also been immediately dropped as doing so was false imprisonment. The Constitution applies to both people you like and people you dislike. Funny how that works.
