Hi guys!

Just want to ask some questions..

My fiancee called the NVC and he just got our MNL case number.

I read some of the topics here that I should have the paper from the NVC with my name and case number before I go for medical?

But I also read that once you have the MNL case number you can now start doing the Medical, CFO and schedule for the interview?

What else should I need in hand before I process those things aside from our MNL case number?

Thanks!

Thanks Greenbaum I've read about the NVC to USEM, that is really helpful.

Another question is..

I have to wait for the NVC letter before going for medical right?

How long does it usually take? Any Idea?

I read this from the Medical Exam Tab

"2 copies of NVC letter/email when MNL# is assigned (SLEC requires the NVC letter/email or the appointment confirmation letter from the embassy that lists the beneficiary's name & the MNL #)."

Hi thespoons!

Thanks for the reply!

CEAC status? The one we check online with our case number? Ours says "In Transit" but do we still need to wait for the "Ready" before processing the medical exam, CFO, etc?

I read this from the Medical Exam Tab

"2 copies of NVC letter/email when MNL# is assigned (SLEC requires the NVC letter/email or the appointment confirmation letter from the embassy that lists the beneficiary's name & the MNL #)."

1. Complete the DS-160 and pay your fee at the bank.

2. Go online with the receipt from the bank (payment update takes 6 - 24 hours before you can schedule your interview) and schedule your interview. After scheduling the interview you will come to the APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION page. While on this page, select EMAIL CONFIRMATION (you can now send to multiple email addresses, so send won to yourself and one to your fiancé(e)). Be sure to keep this in a safe place as you will need it later on as you will need the appointment confirmation page to use for your medical plus, you will need a copy for the embassy on interview day.

3. Now you can go to SLEC for your exam and vaccines. NOTE: The 6 month validity of your visa is based on the date you had your medical, so don't go to early as this can effect the length of time that the visa is valid. 10 days out from your interview is a good rule of thumb.

BTW all this is contained at my website. Good luck.

It's no problem. Sometimes we just need a little more clarification to the process. Having the NVC letter is "SOP - standard operating procedure" as all government directives are but in this case someone has found a work around and it has been excepted for years without a hitch.

Good luck and return if you have any more questions.

hehe sure. 1st day at slec. Got there around 8am. The guard checked the documents needed (see greenbaum's guide). Then wen't to usa reception window (1st floor). They took the documents i brought then took a digital pic. Then they told me to pay the medical fee (5th floor i think, can't remember hehe). Note that they only accept pesos. Cashier told me to have the physical exam but there were too many people so they asked me to do the immunization interview first. So i went down to 2nd flr and they told me to have my xray and labs (3rd and 4th) done first because the lines are too long... so xray was fast as well as the blood extraction. They didnt ask for urine i am not sure why. Then went back for the physical exam and thats where i waited too long. About an hour or so. And while waiting they also took my vitals, ht, wt and finished the eye check. When its my turn for the physical exam, the doc just asked questions about medical history. I got questions regarding my tats since i got quite a few. The doc then asked me to take my clothes off for the last part of the check up. Last stop, immunization interview. Doc just asked if i got any shots the past 3-4 months. Then asked if i already had chicken pox (note that if you said yes you have to show the scar or they will still give you the shot). Then went to the check out area and they told me to go back the next day at 8:15 am. And i was done. It only took 3 hours.

day2: i got there 7:30 am and the guard just checked my reciept and put an "immunization" stamp on it (oh joy!). Then went to the 2nd floor and waited for my turn for the shots. I got my shots at 9am. There were a lot of people who got there earlier than me and even though their schedule was for later they were accomodated first... anyway, i was given mmr, tdap and chicken pox shots. after the shots they made me wait a loooooong time for the results. And i was done at 3:30 pm. Yep no lunch because i was afraid they would call my name and i wouldn't be there. Haha.

Sorry for the long post. :)

Thanks for the reply! :)
