I have a question and hope someone can give me an answer.

So I received the welcome papers from NVC, and I was looking through to see what documents do I need to send. So when I started this whole process I was working and then now a week ago I quit my job because they would give me crappy hours and I have our son with me and I go to school full time. Now the question is me not working anymore will that affect the process, well for the DS-261 form? Because I have to show proof of income or tax return, but since last year was my first year working they did not let me file taxes because I wouldn't receive that much. Or would I have to mention about having a sponsor that will help me out with this?

I'd appreciate the help. Thank you.

you need a co sponsor as well .

You can pay the fees at any time, the sooner the better.

Your 30 day countdown starts when the NVC receives the AOS and IV packages that you have to mail in. Until you've already done this, you don't have to worry about being issued a checklist.

Thanks!! filled the form and done with the fee!

One small victory at a time! :)

I have a question, my USC wife (my petitioner) worked after her med school at the teaching hospital attached to our Medical School in Pakistan but it was not a permanent job or one which she joined for the money. It was a 1 year internship that is a REQUIREMENT before you can register yourself as a licensed physician in Pakistan. She did get paid for it, the pay was 2000 PKR or rouhgly 230 Dollars a month for 12 months after which the Internship automatically ends and you are eligible for registering yourself as a licensed physician with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. Is she required to file a tax return on this income? It roughly translates to 2700 Dollars for 12 months.

Secondly what do i write in her annual income for 2012? and 2013?

The internship started mid 2012 and ended mid 2013 and after that she went back to being a student and is currently a student until August 2015.

Thanks for your help!

if she did not have to file taxes then the income would be 0.00, if she did not file anything for 2014 she needs to hand write a letter explaining why she did not such as unemployed, etc. and attach it . She'll need a co sponsor of course if she is not working currently .

Each month, we all move to the current month, now being June. Within a day, Ryan will come along and close this thread from further comments, so head on over now :)
