Hello VJ'rs

I have a question

NOA2 4/6/2015

Sent to NVC 4/17/2015

I received a conflicting received date By NVC date, its either 4/20 or 4/24

NVC keeps saying it takes up to 42 days to add the case into the NVC system. But from what I have seen here it should be faster

What would be the realistic expectation that they would have our case added? How many days after they have received our case?

TIA!

Thanks for the advice Saylin and Elle. Just got off the phone with Darius, tha deal MVP of the NVC, who very nicely reviewed my DS-261 with me. Took all of a minute. Very glad I didn't have to keep calling back - the thought of those long distance bills make me shudder. :P He told me it'd be about a week until we received instruction for the IV fee - does this sound right? Elle, from your signature it looks like three days, which was what I was expecting. Anyone know if that includes weekends? I check the payment portal obsessively anyway, so I'll catch it as soon as it comes in, but I was just curious as to what to expect.

Yes it was quick. The review happened on Friday the 17th and our IV Bill was available to pay on Monday the 20th

Once they received ours it took a week to get a case number. I called them nightly. I feel the more you call you may hear a lot of "no's" and "sorry's" but it seems to push it through faster. If you look at the spreadsheet Saylin made you can see what other VJ people experienced.

I just got off the phone with the NVC - our AOS/IV package was scanned in on 24 April - and the CS rep said that they are now taking 30 days to review document packages. Good luck to us all!

They told me to wait 10 days but I got the email in 2 days and my portal link was activated at same time.

Thank you!

So far I called once a day, in the last 4 days, the first time I called I was told that the case# should be available at the beginning of next week, and then in the three calls the info changed to 4 weeks or 42 days..

Ill call again :)

Hi everyone! Our aos fee just got paid. How long will it take for us to wait so I can filled up the ds260? NVC sent me an email saying ds261 will be reviewed within 42 days. I filled up our ds261 on April 2, 2015.

I would suggest to call them and ask the operator to review and confirm it with you (petitioner) right there on the phone. That's what my wife did and we got our IV bill 3 days after the call!

A rule of thumb when getting "processing times estimates" from the NVC: don't believe them, the dates you will see here on this board are more accurate to what is happening. Each rep will give you a random answer over the phone in hopes you stop calling.

We heard our case number would be assigned in 30 days - got it in less than a week. The DS-261 was said to take another 30 days to be reviewed - took a week.

I-130 for Spouse

USCIS

10/14/2014 - I-130 Mailed to Chicago Lockbox

10/22/2014 - NOA1 (Nebraska Service Center)

04/01/2015 - NOA2 (161 days)

NVC

04/16/2015 - NVC Received

04/23/2015 - Case # assigned / DS-261 completed

04/24/2015 - AOS fee invoiced and paid

04/30/2015 - AOS+IV packages mailed

05/04/2015 - AOS+IV packages received (scan date)

05/15/2015 - IV fee money order payment confirmed

06/03/2015 - Checklist received: missing DS-260 form

06/19/2015 - DS-260 available online and submitted

07/31/2015 - Case Complete (107 days from arriving @NVC or 89 days from scan date)

Embassy

08/25/2015 - Scheduled interview

09/21/2015 - Interview, approved!

10/02/2015 - Passport received

10/04/2015 - POE! (348 days from NOA1)

Thanks! Updated the link on the first post :)

You still need to fill out an I-864 and include tax information (if you don't have any because you didn't file, you'll need to include a letter stating this). Your parent then needs to fill out their own I-864 and include their tax information, proof of employment, as well as a copy of proof of citizenship, If you read the wiki I wrote, linked in the first post as well as my signature, you can find all you need there.

Just thought I'd make my way over here as I'll be (hopefully) Filing with NVC in May! I-130 approved from TSC on April 27th, this part of the process seems a little less straight forward than the i-130 stage, so will definitely be seeking some advice in the coming weeks :)

Congrats on your recent I-130 approval! :dancing: While you're waiting, I can't suggest enough to read the first post in this thread!!
