Received a checklist today for a Birth Certificate we already sent to them!

Birth Certificate was official, double stamped, initialed and signed. Included parents names and everything. We also had the English translation that was stamped and signed by an approved translator! Had our case number in the top right corner too!

Spoke to a supervisor at NVC today and he said it might take him 2-3 weeks to look at it!

We're sending in again in the meantime! Complete incompetence!!

Has anyone else had this experience???

Checklist was for the Birth Certificate. We already called and confirmed.

For CR-1. Birth Certificate was from Civil Records Office. Duty stamped, signed and sealed. 100% what we needed. Also official English translation, cerified and stamped by translator approved by embassy.

No need for attitude if you are seeking help.

By asking the question, we are trying to check everything that could have been a problem.

If you think you've done everything correct, then there would be no need for RFE

or posting a question here. Most people disclose which country...because processing

and requirements vary slightly by each country.

Also, often there are proper places where you must get the birth certificate

and that can vary by the country.

My wife came from China, and we ended up throwing away the

police, no marriage, and birth certificates acquired from various local government offices

and had to reacquire them from GongZhengChu.

Also, keep in mind that if you go look at the reasons why USCIS rejects the cases,

whole bunch are due to folks sending in same evidence/documents to RFE twice...

You believing you've done 100% correct have no impact on what they believe or want

and the burden is on you to figure out what is wrong with what you submitted

and what you need to correct...and not just submit the same documents they already have.

You're assuming USCIS / NVC is correct 100% of the time. They're not. Not even close ?

We weren't asking for help, but wanted to share our experience. We appreciate it though.

We're fully aware of Reciprocity by Country and what's approved documentation.

We also had conflicting responses by customer service reps at NVC today. One stated we could send in our documents again during supervisory review and it wouldn't reset our time from review. Another rep said it would reset our review time.

Our advice to anyone sending in documents to NVC would be to label each document with a sticky note indicating what specific document it is so they can fully understand it. (our documents were in order by the document cover sheet as well)- Along with the standard of writing your case number in the upper right had corner.

Did we ever ask for help? All we wanted to know if others are having this same experience. There's a lot of us that are.

You're wasting your own time. Keep trolling ???

I would highly suggest to post your experience on FB so you could earn lots of "likes". Vj is a bit of different community.

I understand your frustration with whats going on. We also received a checklist for missing documents which i know i put in the package, and just like you, placed all documents in proper order. My checklist was for my marriage certificate as well, NVC informed me that it was issued by the incorrect authority. It all made no sense to me for the fact that my husband's certificate was issued by the same authority as our marriage certificate. NVC rep also stated if i would like i can place my case under supervisor review which takes 42 days, but she then advised that i should just send in a certify copy or original due to the reason that review times went from 60 days down to 30. Luckily, my husband had sent me two original copies of each document. So, i sent the original along with other documents NVC was requesting and received a scan date of 04/17. Called yesterday (04/29) for a case updated, very nice rep informed me that NVC did receive my package and that all documents are already scanned in and ready for review. She then told me i should get a response within 30 days. You are not alone, and sometimes this crazy and horrible process can be very frustrating. But all that is left is patience and hope. Hope everything works our for you.

The Birth Certificate we submitted is issued by the proper authority. We've also used these documents in the past for another visa as well as for the local embassy. It's also the same authority which is required for CR-1. Police certificate is not required... I'm surprised we didn't get a checklist for that as well ???

We're going to wait for the supervisory review to be completed before we send anything out because we know we're right.
