question for FILIPINO's about LAst name change

HI,

I have question to all filipino woman, After we get married, Are we going to use our last name as our middle name just like we do if we are in the Philippines?

Mine not got mistake,wen i got my SSN and state ID affix there the middle name wen i was single,..dont change it,..

I guess it really depends, because if you have a name like "Maria Angelita Cruz" then the middle name is usually "Angelita" in most documents, unless you specify "Maria Angelita" as the first name. If she got married to a John Smith, and middle name was specified as Angelita, then instead of Maria Angelita Cruz Smith, it often becomes just Maria Angelita Smith.

That's what I did. Since I don't really have a second name, It was easier for me to just use my maiden last name as my married middle name.

  • xx-xx-2005 - Met in an online creative writing forum for anime (Yes, we are nerds. Awesome ones, at that.) Became friends ever since and chatted mostly on YM. Our characters' names were Kumi and Drake.
  • 11-20-2011 - We became a couple.

Yeah I did it Philippine-style. Since I had a second name, I made sure that they were aware that my maiden last name will be my middle name.

Yes you will want to use the traditional name format so that you don't have issues down the road trying to complete things with the Philippine's government.

Since I have two first names and don't want to remove any of it (ex of single name: Mary Jane Garcia Reyes ; married name : Mary Jane Reyes Scott), I really put it in all my paperworks including the one at Social Security Administration right after I got married. I made them known that I want my first two names on it ;)

Hello. I was wondering about this and i would be psyched if i could follow the us way of changing your surname instead of ph where your maiden last name becomes your new middle name. If i do this what issues will i be facing aside from NSO documents?
