CO requested a co-sponsor but im not sure CO looked at my tax transcript for 2014

My income from last year from my 2014 tax transcript shows i made over the 125% poverty guidelines yet CO requested for a joint sponsor and rescheduled another interview date.

My employment verification also stated my then new pay which was over what i made per my 2014 tax transcript . So why do i need a co-sponsor? I really dread getting my immediate family financially involve in this process.

The white sheet given to my fiancé checked Joint sponsor under financial statement.

Make sure you look at the right column for poverty guidelines...if it's correct I would send the papers again and proof to sustain your income and also a letter explaining no need of co-sponsor...

If you are working with a congressman you can have them contact the embassy for the reason why you need a co-sponsor. This is what I had to do and I got all the reasons why.

I made 22K last year per my tax transcript.

I got promoted in Feb and my pay went to 36K , now i make more than 36K.

at the time of sending copies and financial documents to my fiancé i was making 36K so on my employment verification, the HR put my earnings on the letter.

so i am confused at to why i need a co-sponsor.

My fiancé said he tried to explain to CO with the employment verification and an updated g-325a that my pay has increased but he said the CO wouldn't hear it.

I am not trying to drag this issue but I want understand where the issue is coming from?

Because we could have been approved yesterday had it not been this issue. Now we have to come back 1 month later.

Is it possible for me to get this decision reversed so that my fiancé won't have to wait a month to show something we don't need?

It is possible th get it reversed if the CO made a mistake. Get your congressman on this ASAP.

Yeah it sound slike they got confused between the tax and current income and made a mistake. You should be able to get this reversed. If you can include some current paystubs, that will help but mostly you need a letter of explanation.

I really don't buy this idea that people need to contact a Congressman or Senator for this stuff. It's not their job. It's your jobs as the petitioner to deal with these issues on your own.

With the 22k alone is more than enough for two people. Try to contact your embassy about this. Actually the 36k increase is not really necessary to prove that you're making more than enough as maybe this made the issue more confused for the CO.

Again, your 2014 income of 22k is more than enough as all you need is around 20k to qualify as a sponsor. (For 2 people)

Ghana is a very difficult Embassy. They pick at everything and delay getting a visa. It's just not necessary to make couples go through these kinds of issues!!

Congressmen and senators have special aides and liaisons that only deal with immigration matters. Period.

You are early in your journey and still green behind the ears based on many of your comments.

Research more and don't post compulsively when you don't have the facts.

Good luck dealing with the embassy and resolving anything if the embassy will not answer your emails and calls.

That is why we have representatives and yes it is their job, check out their web sites !

Did you check the correct poverty lines ? They went up. If yes then I would also suggest also that you contact your congressman/senator to

inquire why they think you need a co sponsor. Please let us know what happened.
