Audi Just Invented Fuel Made From CO₂ and Water audi-fuel-environmental-friendly.jpg?quaAudi HandoutWater, CO2 and green power are the ingredients for Audi e-diesel The next step for the project will be industrial scale production

An Audi research facility in Dresden, Germany, has managed to create the first batches of diesel fuel with a net-zero carbon footprint — made from carbon dioxide (CO2), water and renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power.

Germany’s government has welcomed the new technology, created in partnership with a greentech company called Sunfire. Johanna Wanka, Germany’s Federal Minister of Education and Research, even test drove the fuel and called it, “a crucial contribution to climate protection and the efficient use of resources,” according to an Audi press release.

We are looking backward on this, I don't get it either.

That's where the future is. Will never understand why people on this side of the pond tend to be more busy clinging to the past.

I don't understand why people who hate this side of the pond and everything about it choose to live here

I'm serious. You make broad assumptions that someone hates the country because they find things to criticise.

Why do you insist on viewing everything in absolutes?

It's like having a narrow experience of a few black people through makes your an expert on every black American.

Using that rationale I might as well ask you why you hate black people.

Most people's views on a subject are more nuanced than that.

1. I was born here and have no intention of moving

2. Who said anything about hating everything on this side of the pond, I am just dismayed at the lack of vision in our country when we have the most awesome research and technical capability. Many leaders don't even want to acknowledge that Carbon Dioxide is impacting the environment.

3. I love my country, as you do as well, some folks just have a different vision for the future. I want our country to be the leaders and visionaries.

He was talking to MBD, not you. Because MBD is critical of how things are done here and he has the nerve to not be born here and say these things out loud.

You know, some people may be dismayed at how easily the US has given up on just about everything. The future, leadership and all that good stuff that people around the world used to look up to. It's just sad to see. And that is true for many that hail from other parts of the world as well as many that were born and raised here. I'd argue wanting the US to lead and innovate and be on top again is something that would suggest that one loves this country. Those that hate it should be happy with this nation's decades long decline. I'm most certainly not part of that latter crowd.

But that's too complex a thought for some to understand.
