Case Complete but received a CHECKLIST for PCC

Last week my case was completed. But on the same day I received a checklist for PCC. When I call NVC they said my case is complete and waiting for PD to become current before scheduling an interview and not action needed on my part. They also said I received CHECKLIST on PCC because my consulate is India Mumbai/Bombay and it needs PCC during interview as a mandatory document. Can anyone out here who attended Mumbai/Bombay consulate confirm this false checklist please. Thanks.

Copy of a valid PCC from the Regional Passport Office should be sent as part of the IV package to NVC to prevent a possible checklist.

Regardless of case# with BMB or NWD, I've seen posts here that personnel manning the embassy entrance ask for the original PCC before they let you enter. I can't verify that, but that's what I've read on a handful of posts here.

PCC application fee is Rs 500 and takes about 3 weeks.

(1) Cover Sheet

(2) Beneficiary Passport front and back pages.

(3) Beneficiary Birth Certificate

(4) Marriage Certificate.

(5) PCC

You may try your luck by not submitting PCC. But make sure to write a cover letter mentioning that you will provide it during interview. They might end up completing your case and also issue a CHECKLIST email for PCC. My concern about my case is despite of submitting PCC why did they issue me a CHECKLIST email for PCC and also successfully completed my case at NVC. I Just want to get conformation from other folks here who's interview is scheduled at MUMBAI Consulate if this is the case with them as well. Thanks

Thanks Guys... Kiran n Suds u r correct before entering the Embassy they ask for Original PCC ....And at NVC we just have to send copy of PCC...So i would better wait to get PCC and send that with entire package

KVK123 which PCC u sent..??? PCC from Local Police Station or PCC from Passport Office...Coz PCC from passport office is the only one they accept ...no other PCC is required...And since ur Case is completed just have all the documents with u before Interview and all will be fine..Good Luck

I sent PCC from the local commissioner office by mistake. They is what causing the concern for me. Despite of case closed should I send the PCC from regional passport office again to PCC with the coversheet in the CHECKLIST email or will that cause unnecessary complications? NVC Rep. said no need to send any additional documentation from me to them.

If you have a spare 3 weeks, suggest getting a PCC from the rpo. NVC site specifically states from the regional passport office. But it's possible NVC can't differentiate between the commish office pcc or rpo pcc.

In the end it's your decision..

If they say so don't send any additional documents. Just take original at the time of interview.

You can just keep calling them umtill you get an interview scheduled. Once you have it idts you need to send anything to NVC.

Hi,

I know this thread is kinda old but I'm going to try my luck! I sent the wrong PCC to NVC. Will I get a checklist or will they complete my case and just ask me to take it to the consulate?! Any advice is helpful, thanks!

I wish i was lucky like you. They hold my CC due to need of an additional PCC.

Hi,

Did you submit the PCC? How long did the CC take after that?

Thanks!
