US citizen baby passport and ROB/ ROM

Hi. I just posted a question yesterday about Report of Marriage and somehow I'm still confused.

We got married in AZ, which makes LA our place for the Consulate.

We've been married 2 years in Sept and we haven't reported our marriage.

We are planning to do ROM next week and passport renewal with married name.

If I am correct we are gonna submit ROM in LA Consulate General, right?

And also, we have a 3 month old son. I am from Philippines and my husband is a USC. Our son was born here too ( AZ ) - Do we need to do a ROB? If so, do we need to submit it too to LA Consulate General or in the Philippines?

Also, we were wondering how to do our son's passport.

Any help and answers will be appreciated.

Yes,u need to do ROB to ur son too so that u can apply a phil. passport..I just got my daughters phil. passport took 6 months for me to report her birth in phil...

You can do the ROM & ROB by mail if you want, but you need to be there in person to apply for a passport. My parents did my ROB for me 2 years ago. I was able to apply for my passport the same day, however be prepared for a long wait at the consulate. I think we were there for about half a day for my ROB and passport application. They can mail you the passport after a couple months.

It looks like you just missed the deadline for the consular outreach in Phoenix, AZ. PCG LA usually has consular outreaches in different states throughout the year so that might be another option if you don't want to go to Los Angeles.

Is the ROB necessary too for applying a US passport for him? Or that's onl for PH passport? Either way, is it a must for both countries?

Yes, I just missed the consular outreach in PHX, AZ. But we are planning to go to LA next week so we figured to just do it personally. Do you think we can do it all on the same day? ROM, ROB, and passport renewal? Is it possible I can finished the ROM first so I can do the passport renewal on my married name too?

only for phil. passport u need to report his birth,if u want to apply for phil. passport..my daughter was born in US too,she got a phil./US passport now...

For the US passport you only need a US birth certificate. For the Philippines passport you need a Philippines birth certificate or ROB.

I'd say the Philippines passport is optional as long as your child has never had one. Before I got my Philippines passport I traveled to the Philippines as just a US citizen because that's all they knew me as. Once you start using a Philippines passport for your child, the child must always use the Philippines passport to enter the Philippines. You show the immigration officer in the Philippines both the US and Philippines passport and they stamp both.

I think you should be able to do the civil registry and passport applications in the same day. I was able to do that with my own ROB and passport. Just try to get there right when the office opens so you have plenty of time.
