Contacting a Congressman

I am a K1 filer and stuck at the Texas Service Center for close to 200 days and waiting. Last Wednesday I wrote to my Congressman and Senator. I sent a privacy disclosure form that I downloaded on their webpage to allow them to inquire about my case along with a letter explaining my case and current status.

I was expecting that maybe next week, somone from at least one of the offices would call or write me back with some kind of response but not sure what to expect. Yet just two days after mailing my letter, on Fridy afternoon, an aide from each office called to me to discuss my case and requested a copy of an identification be emailed. Each individual aide heard my plight and said they would forward my letter and inquire about my case. Now I am not sure if their quick response and interest is customary or if their inquiry will be of any use. My hope is that a public official making a request may have some look at my file finally.

I wanted to share and maybe others will post their experiences.

Check my links in my signature. We got approval after contacting Congressman Xavier Becerra. Good luck!

We contacted Congressman Connolly and he didn't really do much. He contacted us after we had been approved to inform us that we were approved which was about a month after we contacted his office. Only thing useful he did was getting us our case number at NVC so we didn't have to call them.
