You are posting in the K1 forum, and your profile says that you are filing for a K1 visa, but you state that she is your wife. K1 visas are not for spouses, they are for fiancé(e)s of US citizens. Please make yourself acquainted to the IR1/CR1 visa forum. Please also read the guidelines, here as well as on the USCIS website.

Ok I thought K-1 was for any foreign person to come here while they wait for the I-130 petition to be processed. That's why I came on this site, to hopefully clarify all of this ridiculous confusion. Yes we just got married in the Philippines last week and I just downloaded the I-130 form. That's as far as I've gotten

Then see my reply at the top for the guide to the CR-1 visa which is for US citizens marrying a non-us citizen.

Does anyone know if it's a requirement to have signed affidavits to prove the marriage or are photos and marriage certificate enough?

Please fill out your timeline and profile correctly. Currently it shows you have or will file for a K1 which is for couples who are engaged and wish to get married within 90 days of arriving to the United States. If you're already married you file for CR1. The reason we want you to update your timeline is that it will be easier for us to help you when we have more info to go on.

I am not filing for CR1 but it logically feels like a marriage certificate proves more than a signed affidavit.

Affidavits are not required and if you were to submit them, they would carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of the file.
