Any way to speed up biometric appointment?

We have submitted the 751 packet and I expect NOA some time soon. But we want to go on an extended vacation starting the beginning of June. Anyone have guidance on how far out the biometric appointments are being made? (We will go to Detroit for our appointment.) And is there a way to speed up the biometric appointment? Could we schedule an InfoPass appointment and go in and do them early?

Once you get your biometrics appointment letter you can try an early walk-in. No need to make an appointment, just go with your letter. That's what I did. Whether or not they will allow you to do a walk-in depends on your local office, and how busy they are.

Be aware that for most people, the biometrics appointment date is usually set around 1 month of USCIS receiving your application. So I would expect you should be fine for your June vacation, even if you stick to the given appointment date, as it should be around sometime late May.

As Lainie mentioned... you may be able to walk in and do an early one. There is a thread somewhere, don't remember where that lists some of the locations where people were able to go in early for biometrics. Try doing a search for that.

If it isn't a total inconvenience to just head over there you might as well try. But you will need your letter first.

As soon as you get the letter, do a walk in. Go after 10.30 am but no later than noon. Chances are they are less busy during those hours.if they say no that day you can try again, they don't care how many times you go.
