I really like this girl I am seeing but she has been here for the past 1.5 years illegally. She works, has no criminal record, and is 20 years old. I am not looking to get married or anything because I have not been seeing her that long, but we have talked about it and I am just looking to see what her options are. She is worried that I will leave her because she doesn't want me to think she's using me for a visa or something. I don't want her and her family to get deported. What are her options?

Thank you :)

Update: I was born and raised in America. I'm a US citizen. I'm asking on her behalf. She is from Brazil.

Stay here illegally

She is here, no visa needed.

GC is something she will get through marriage.

She entered 1 and a half years ago illegally.

So she won't get deported?

She could, but it's not like anyone is hunting her down, she would have to do something to bring attention to herself. She can't ever leave the country to visit family in Brazil or hold a legal job until she gets married and becomes legal.

She can't even apply for a work visa?

In my short knowledge, any of visas only can be apply at the U.S. Embassy and there is no U.S. Embassies inside the country.

If she not enter the country legally (i.e. with a visa and inspected by CBP) then she has no status to adjust from, regardless of whether she is married to you or any other US citizen.
