look, i shouldn't be asking this because really i'm just waiting for the Riyadh Embassy to assign us an interview date for my fiancee's K-1.. the problem is while waiting, my mind is racing thinking i may have missed a step/etc since it's going to be 4 weeks now and we haven't gotten an interview date yet

I need someone just to look over my steps and see if i missed a step or not.. PLEASE :( just to ease my mind..

I'll start from the moment our I-129F got approved

-I-129F approved sent to NVC

-Riyadh Embassy emails us "Packet 3" and telling us they received our Case from NVC along with our case #

-checked CEAC, Case # shows up and status: READY

-received NVC Hardcopy Letter

-fiancee gathers all required documents: medical, police clearance, etc

-we send all documents DS-160 confirmation, passport photos, etc to Riyadh Embassy

-waiting for interview date

anyhows i'm non-stop reading, googling, people are talking about paying nvc invoice fees/etc.. do we need to do that?!

we didn't get no invoice fee.. i thought the entire point of NVC in the K-1 process is to process the approved I-129F and send it to the local US Embassy (which is what happened)

anyhows, please someone look over my steps and just ease my mind a bit.. i should relax since we're just waiting for the interview date now but i can't :( mind's too chaotic

I'm not sure about your embassy but there should be a fee to pay I assume, try contact the embassy and ask! I remember once when I applied for a visa and I had to pay a fee (without them telling me to) and then bring the bank receipt to them.

i think your fiance needs to pay first then you are able to schedule the interview.

just email or call embassy to find out how to pay for it.

yeah we did :) we followed the embassy k-1 packet perfectly and like i said, we are waiting for the interview

it's this blasted wait that's making me question everything :( like did i miss a step.. etc

i thought the entire role of the NVC in this k-1 process is to receive the approved I-129F from USCIS and send it to the local US Embassy

sigh.. grr! argh!! my peace of mind won't return until we get an interview date i suppose

K-1 applicants pay a $265 visa processing fee when applying for the visa. Your consulate should have provided info on how to pay that.

A K-1 does not submit or pay anything to the NVC. You are speaking about invoice fees in your post. I think you need to make sure you are reading about the procedures and requirements for K-1 visas and not other types of visas, such as spousal visas, when researching. Someone applying for a spousal visa would need to pay fees to the NVC and will be invoiced. This is not applicable for a K-1.
