U.S. Embassy Consular Services Limited April 24-27
April 20, 2015

Islamabad - The United States Embassy’s Consular Section in Islamabad will offer limited services from Friday, April 24 to Monday, April 27. The section will resume normal operations on Tuesday, April 28 in our new location and will be accessible on this date via the diplomatic shuttle.

The following services will be affected from April 24-27

American Citizen Services will function in a limited capacity; however, emergencies will be prioritized. In the event of an emergency, please contact the Embassy main number 051-208-0000 (inside Pakistan) or (+92) 51-208-0000 (outside Pakistan). When contacting the United States Embassy, please provide the full name of the American Citizen, the United States passport number, date of birth, telephone numbers, and the nature of the emergency. General inquiries can be sent to ACSIslamabad@state.gov and responses will be sent as quickly as possible.

Immigrant Visa applicants with appointments on April 24 and April 27 will be contacted directly for rescheduling.

Non-Immigrant Visa appointments are available through April 23 and normal visa services will resume on April 28. During the move, NIV applicants who need assistance can contact the Visa Service Center by phone at 021-111-234111 (outside Islamabad/Rawalpindi) or 051-111-234111 (inside Islamabad/Rawalpindi) or 1-703-988-3426 (USA), or by email at support-pakistan@ustraveldocs.com.

Responses to e-mail inquiries may take several days due to the move.

What will not change?

The Embassy’s main phone number (+92) 51-208-0000 will not change.

The Embassy website address will remain the same: islamabad.usembassy.gov

Consular Section security procedures will remain the same.

o Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the Consular Section, and there is no capacity to store them. Please leave them at home.

o Large bags require extra screening by security personnel and slow down the security process for you and everyone behind you. Please leave large bags at home and only bring the essentials to your appointment.

o The complete list of items that are not permitted inside the Consular Section includes: cell phones, chargers, nail clippers, batteries, firearms, knives, scissors, other sharp objects, cameras, tape/video recorders, laptop computers, lighters/matches, pepper spray (Mace), aerosol spray, radios, pliers, flammable liquids, and sealed envelopes.

They never sent passports with Speedex. They use american express for delivering the passports. Your status will be changed from AP to Issued when your visa will be printed. After it you will get your passport in a day or two.

( This is as per my experience)
